I am an adviser on Intellectual Property Strategies to Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industry. I am looking to connect with creative people and share knowledge. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
I have worked in pharma and biotechnology companies in the R&D department for several years. I understand the usefulness of patents, and I know the opportunities and threats involved in the development of a new product or drug, from the laboratory to the market. More than 10 years of professional experience.
Since 2015, I have been working in 'Fuentes Carrasco', a Mexican Intellectual Property firm.
In 2015, I developed a strategy to create a technology management department in a pharma company,
In 2016 I got my master degree in Innovation and Technology Management in 2016.
I collaborated as a consultant to the Korea Development Institute in the project Strategic Technology Planning from 2017 to 2018.
Technological Insititute of Morelia, Michoacan Mexico
National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico City, Mexico.
(2015 - now)
Working in the consultancy area, with special attention to the Pharmaceutical Industry. With emphasis on Intellectual Property management, development of patent strategies, technology surveillance, monitoring and competitive intelligence, also patentability and infringement analysis. My previous jobs and degrees allowed me to connect the pharma and biological sciences with IP.
(2012 - 2014)
I participated in the production of vaccine prototypes for the avian sector, besides, I focused on developing and validating different immunological tests and molecular biology techniques and handling viral strains and cell cultures.
I learned about the necessity, even working in the research phase of taking time to know what the competition is doing, analysis patent, papers, and news, in order to invest the time in the best way.
(2011 - 2012)
I developed and characterized monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) in production and purification processes, likewise, also, I worked in the transfer technology process of the research projects, from the academy to the Industry. I understood the importance to have a leader of the project that is not necessarily the investigator of the project or the manager or director, it is a person in charge of monitoring all the states of the project and their connection inside and outside of the company, he or she, should has good scientific and business knowledge
Nowadays, it is a necessity for a company or any person that desire to develop a product to be aware of potential competitors, or substitutes for its developments. For that reason, I focus on the development of surveillance and competitive intelligence reports, that allow to know the principal lines, organizations, universities, companies or researches of your technology or new product, through patent, or paper analysis, benchmarking and other strategic data.
Once you determine to invest in any project, generic or innovative product, It has to elaborate an industrial property strategy, as a part of the whole planning strategy, in that way I elaborate Freedom To Operate report (FTO), clearance, and patentability analysis, patent prosecution, etc, likewise in order to achieve the best patent strategy to your needs, mainly for the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.
We are in the fourth generation of technology management systems, called Research, Development and Innovation (RDI). They allow through knowledge, management, and marketing, to detect a poor signal and make it productive. To favor of the success of the products.
Technology management models are elaborated with the own requirements of each company.
I have worked in the development of Technology Management System department or areas for Mexican Pharma Companies.
I collaborated on the project "Strategy Technology Planning" as a local consultant to the Korean Development Institute (KDI). My activities involved the understanding of structure, practice and current application of Mexico in R&D priority setting, trying to take the best lessons and experiences from Korea Case to the National Polytechnic Institute.
I developed and learned about:
a) Technology Foresight
b) R&D Priority Setting
c) Technology Road Mapping.
Tools for the development of a better technology planning in the Industry, Academy, and Government.
Right now, I am using these tools in the development of planning industrial strategies to achieve the goals in short and long term for every project.
